The Fat Phoenix Rises Again?

chart 0728

Before we get started, let me address something.

When I posted last weeks graph on Twitter I was told by a loyal Bubba listener that there was no difference in the graph lines between Bubba & Mike.  Their claim was they look exactly the same.  Seriously?  Anyone with half a brain can see the red line looks like the smooth rolling plains of the Midwest and the blue line looks like the Rocky Mountains.  Clearly these lines are different and if you can’t comprehend this you should stop reading now.  They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and if you can’t see the difference in the picture, you certainly aren’t going to understand what is about to be put in words.

Let’s review this weeks ratings.

As you can see by the graph above, Mike pretty much remained the same in the ratings with a 7.7 share and Bubba had a slight up tick to 5.3.  Bubba’s increase is significant over last weeks share of 4.0.  However, this is still way off of his high of 11.7 for year.  It has been three weeks since his high for the year and all of the weeks since have been significantly down (5.8, 4.0, 5.3).  Judging by the last three weeks most would assume this is where his ratings will settle.  But, we still have to question why.  Why have the ratings settled in at such a lower level?  Are the allegations of ratings tampering true?  Were certain PPMs turned off as alleged?  Again, there has been no verifiable evidence of ratings tampering or investigation against Bubba.  With that being said we’ll just have to assume that for some strange reason Bubba’s loyal listeners tuned out and that can be the only reason for the ratings plunge.

How can a fat phoenix fly?

If my livelihood depended on ratings I’d be terrified of the results from the last three weeks.  However, the Bubba Radio Network is expressing the exact opposite.  Below is a Tweet sent out today by Tuddle.
Tuddle 0728How could he possibly know changes are coming?  When I questioned him we went back and forth with a little friendly banter.  In the end he didn’t share any information, understandably, and we learned nothing new except for another promise of soon from the BRN.  The good thing is Tuddle said things will change within “the next 2 weeks” so we shouldn’t have to wait long to see if he’s right. But, does these mean an investigation into the alleged ratings tampering has concluded?  I don’t know, but it’s sure interesting that the confidence at the BRN is soaring again.  Let’s see how this plays out over the next few weeks and see if the fat phoenix rises from the ashes.

  1. The conclusion one might draw is that new ppm’s are either being negotiated or enroute. There is no way that BTLS beats Calta with the level of talent around him now. Tuddle is a nice enough guy and 25 is ok but Burke,Spice or Brent they are not. It matters not people know the truth now.
